His advanced hedging approach employs in-depth market research, with valuation and pricing changes being closely tracked. Michael D. Franko’s industry experience extends back to the early 1980s, when he began in the commodities sector as a member of the Marmon Group’s Cerro Sales Corp (part of Pritzker). Starting in the physical traffic department, Mr. Franko took roles of increased responsibility related to foreign exchange, sales, lending, and trading. His efforts were pivotal in creating an options trading department with advanced risk management, price modeling, and commodity options arbitrage practices.
Mr. Franko also has experience managing a commodity portfolio with Refco(Haut) Commodities, where he focused on arbitrage positions in metals. In addition, as Willowbridge Associates’ portfolio manager, he again directed commodities trading and gained extensive directional trading capacities.
